What is FOR GENERATIONS?
The FORGENERATIONS initiative is a call to experience God through sacrificial generosity and whole-hearted surrender to see all generations follow Him. As part Of this big vision, we will expand our Walnut Grove Campus facilities and create more space for people to experience Jesus. This initiative will allow us to build a new auditorium, create a welcoming lobby/gathering space, and renovate our existing facility to make an even better environment for our children and students. While our current facility has served us well, it cannot keep up with our growth over the last several years. We have reached a point where we are maxed out, limiting our ability to reach more people far from God.
Our community is growing rapidly, and we cannot afford to wait to expand our facility. New families are moving into our area, and we want to be ready to welcome them and introduce them to the love and grace of Jesus.
First, we are calling for a UNIFIED MOVEMENT. This movement is not just about raising funds; it is about growing our faith and trust in the Lord. We want everyone to grow in their generosity and join us in sowing seeds of faith for future generations. When we come together with a shared
purpose, there is no limit to what God can accomplish.
Second, we believe in INVESTING IN OUR COMMUNITY. From day one, we have been committed to making a difference right where we are. We have invested over $1.5 MILLION in our community and mission partners, and we want to continue blessing them by investing over $250,000 in the next two years.
In addition to investing financially, we also want to continue to show God’s love through our service to others, living out our core value of serving people.
Lastly, we need your help to EXPAND OUR FACILITY to increase our influence. OUR GOAL is to RAISE $7,000,000 over the next two years. With this funding, we can build a new auditorium, a welcoming lobby, and a compelling environment for our children and
students.
God will do amazing things, far greater than we could ever ask or imagine. $7,000,000 is a big goal, but God owns all resources and entrusts us to be FAITHFUL STEWARDS with what he has given us. To whom much is given, much will be expected, and fulfilling God’s vision will require
RADICAL SACRIFICE from us all.

FAQ
What are you asking me to do?
We are asking that you pray and seek God for how He wants you to respond. Prepare your heart to hear Him, and then listen to what He says. Talk with your spouse and your family about what this commitment will mean for this next season. Respond to the generosity of the gospel by giving extravagantly to sow seeds of faith for the next generation.
How long is my commitment?
We are asking that everyone make an initial commitment for two years. The fulfillment period begins in March 2024 and will end in March 2026.
What if I’m new here?
We’re excited you’ve chosen to be a part of Church at the Grove. The local church is God’s plan for shaping us into the image of Christ and bringing the gospel to our community. The For Generations Initiative is a great time to partner with us in seeing lives transformed by the love of Jesus.
How much will the Walnut Grove facility expansion cost?
And how will we pay for it?
For Generations Initiative will allow us to build a new auditorium space that can hold approximately 500 people, create a new lobby/gathering space, and create new preschool environments. In addition to these new environments, For Generations will remodel our existing space for older kids and students. The entire project is projected to cost approximately $7 million. We expect to raise $3.5 million in expanded giving through the initiative and finance the additional $3.5 million.
Can we afford this?
We believe so! Our elder team and other leaders trust that God wants us to move forward and that He will supply all our needs. This will require a step of faith corporately and individually, but we see this as an opportunity to grow in our discipleship.
How does the one-fund approach to For Generations change my giving to support the general budget and other special offerings?
During this two-year period, every contribution to God’s work through Church at the Grove is a contribution to our For Generation initiative. Every aspect of the ministry God calls us toward will be funded through For Generations. There will not be separate funds. Every gift made will go into the same For Generations fund. Therefore, every gift becomes an opportunity to celebrate and contribute to what God is doing in and through Church at the Grove as we sow seeds of faith for future generations.
Are there additional ways besides cash that I can give to For Generations?
Be creative as you explore ways you and your family can give. Don’t overlook stored assets that you own. Gifts of appreciated property (stocks, real estate, mutual funds, jewelry, artwork, collectibles, etc.) often make great gifts with significant tax advantages. Please consult with a professional advisor for advice in your particular circumstance. If you need assistance with making a gift of property or stock, we would be delighted to help.
What if I can’t afford to give right now?
Even in times of scarcity, God wants our hearts. The widow who gave her last mite did not make a very big financial contribution, but Jesus said she gave the largest gift of all. For Generations is about all of us coming together, giving generously, and trusting God to do the rest. It may mean that God is asking you to trust Him by making a faith commitment you do not know how to fulfill right now. God has supplied our every need in Christ, and we trust He will honor a heart that wants to give generously in response to the gospel. There may also be ways to be sacrificial with your lifestyle to create margin for generosity in your life. Find ways to involve the entire family and teach children to obey the Lord with a generous heart and to trust him. This is a great opportunity to take a look at our overall stewardship of all that God has entrusted to us.
What if I’m severely in debt right now?
Am I still supposed to give?
It’s important for generosity to be a part of our lives at every point. If you are in the process of paying off debt, we commend you, and you should continue to do so. But, the Bible does not teach that we withhold giving until we are debt-free. When we honor God first with our giving, He promises to be involved with every other aspect of finances. We invite you to attend an upcoming session of Financial Peace University, where you will learn not only some great principles of personal finance but also God’s perspective on our stewardship of his resources.
